ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team is ranked No. 19 the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Coaches Preseason Poll.
The Tritons are coming off their sixth appearance in the last eight years at the NCAA Championships and finished the 2024-25 campaign with seven top-four finishes, including two team titles.
UMSL will play five tournaments this fall starting next Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 8-9) at the UIndy Fall Invitational at Champions Points Golf Club in Henryville, Ind.
The Tritons seven players from last year's squad including GLVC Player of the Year and three-time All-American
Wilma Zanderau and GLVC Freshman of the Year
Mayan Covarrubias. Also returning for UMSL is junior
Hillary Currier and sophomore
Emmy Wahl.
Zanderau's scoring average of 73.20 last season was the second best for a single season in school history while Covarrubias had a scoring average of 75.66. Currier and Wahl were also named to the All-GLVC Team.
UMSL, under the direction of 11th-year head coach
Troy Halterman, set a program record last season with their team scoring average of 297.49 and had 38 rounds of par or better golf.
