ST. LOUIS – The No. 19 University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team shot a 36-hole total team score of 574 (289-285) and is in first place after the first day of the UIndy Invitational on Monday at Champions Pointe Golf Club in Henryville, Ind.
The Tritons have four players sitting in the top 10 on the individual leaderboard heading into Tuesday's final round.
Wilma Zanderau led the way shooting a 142 (71-71) and is in second place four shots behind Tiffin's Laura Goetz.
Hillary Currier and
Mayan Covarrubias each shot an even par 144 and are tied for fourth. Courier shot consecutive rounds of 72 while Covarrubias shot a 73 in the morning session and a 71 in the afternoon round.
Hope Williams shot a 145 (73-72) and is tied for seventh while
Emmy Wahl is tied for 14th at 146 (75-71).
UMSL holds a seven-shot lead over UIndy for the team title.
Tuesday's final round is scheduled to start at 7:30 a.m. (CDT).
