BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The No. 21 University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team finished the second round of the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships with a total team score of 291 and is in 13th place with a 36-hole score of 586 (295-291) heading into Thursday's final round of stroke play at Desert Hawk Run at Boulder Creek Golf Course in Boulder City, Nev.
The top eight teams in the final standings at the end of Thursday's round advance to match play quarterfinals on Friday morning. The Tritons are currently at +10 but are only two shots behind Henderson State for the final spot in the match play portion of the championship.
Wilma Zanderau continues to lead the way for UMSL finishing with her second straight round of 71 and is two shots under par with a score of 142 and is tied for ninth.
Hillary Currier had a round of even par highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 16th hole.
Mayan Covarrubias shot a 73 in her round and is at 150 for the championships (77-73).
Juliette Lecomte shot a 75 and is at 148 while
Emmy Wahl finished with a score of 76 and has a score of 154 (78-76) through 36 holes.
Cal State San Marcos' Madison Murr holds a five-shot lead over West Texas A&M's Anna Nomrowski and Dallas Baptist's Ella Cheek for medalist honors. The Cougars are the team leader with a total team score of 564 (280-284) through 36 holes.
The final round of the stroke play portion of the championships tees off at 9:30 a.m. (CDT) on Thursday. The Tritons are scheduled to start teeing off at 10:20 am (CDT).
