ST. LOUIS – University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball standout
Skylar Weaver was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference's Scholar-Athlete of the Year for volleyball by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. She joins Charlotte Richards as the only UMSL volleyball players to earn the distinction.
The junior libero helped lead the Tritons to a record of 26-5 in 2025 including 13-0 in the GLVC, the GLVC regular season and postseason titles and the number one seed in he Midwest Regional. She started all 31 matches this past fall and led the GLVC in total digs with 614 and digs per set with 5.34.
Weaver ranked 12th in the NCAA for total digs and 16th in digs per set. She was the GLVC Libero of the Year and First Team All-GLVC selection and was an American Volleyball Coaches Association Third Team All-American.
Weaver, majoring in business, achieved a 3.825 semester this past fall and has a cumulative GPA of 3.957 and appeared on the Dean's List. She was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Second Team in January.
