ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team finished second out of 16 teams with a total team score of 882 (297-298-287) in the UMSL Spring Invitational on Monday at Norwood Hills Country Club in St. Louis.
The Tritons had the lowest team score in the final round finishing three over par as a team and had two individuals land on the all-tournament team.
Wilma Zanderau finished third overall with a 54-hole score of 214 (75-74-65) and had the lowest score in the final round at six under par.
Hillary Currier finished in fourth place with a score of 219 (72-75-72).
Mayan Covarrubias shot a 225 (73-73-79) to finish in a tie for 15th overall.
Alaina Ervin turned in a final round of 72 to finish with a score of 226 (78-76-72) and was tied for 17th and
Emmy Wahl finished with a score of 234 (77-79-78).
UMSL's second team in the event was led by
Hope Williams who shot a 232 (79-77-76) to finish in a tie for 30th.
Brooke Inchiostro finished with a score of 238 (79-76-83) and
Abigail Ante shot a 264 (86-86-92).
Grand Valley State's Heida Rakel Rafnsdottir was the individual medalist with a final score of 213 (68-75-69). She defeated Ferris State's Kamryn Shannon by one shot for the top spot. GVSU held off a charge from the Tritons on Monday to win the team title with a total team score of 875 (289-293-293).
UMSL is back in action this Friday competing at the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship tournament at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, Ind. The teams are scheduled to play 36 holes on Friday, 18 on Saturday and on Sunday the top four teams in the final stroke play standings will advance to the match play championship.
