Tritons Ranked Ninth In Second Installment of NCAA Regional Rankings

ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team is ranked ninth in the Midwest Region in the second NCAA regional rankings that were released on Wednesday (April 29) afternoon.

The top eight teams in the final rankings will earn a bid to the NCAA Division II tournament. The Midwest region is comprised of teams from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC.)

The Tritons are 24-22 overall and 17-7 in the GLVC.

Selection Monday comes on May 11 when the 64-team NCAA DII Championship field – eight from each region – will be announced during a selection show at 9 a.m. (CDT) on NCAA.com.

UMSL is looking to make its 11th NCAA Tournament appearance overall, ninth in the last 14 seasons and first under head coach Chelsey Mulligan.

The Tritons host Truman State and William Jewell this weekend in their final home games of the season at the UMSL Softball Field.
