BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team continued its historic postseason run at the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship Thursday, advancing through the quarterfinals before falling 3.5-1.5 in the national semifinal match to Wingate at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.

The No. 2 seed Tritons advanced to the semifinal match by defeating No. 7 seed California State University San Bernardino 4.5-0.5, this morning in the quarterfinals, while the third seeded Bulldogs defeated sixth seeded Columbus State 3-2 in their quarterfinal contest.

UMSL and Wingate went back-and-forth in the semifinal but it was the Bulldogs winning the first two matches to take a 2-0 lead. Trigg Lindahl tied his match against Alfie Storer to get the Tritons on the board. Logan Mayo dropped his match to Mattia D'Errico by three shots. Dani Solavera got the win in the final match defeating Cole Rouse by disqualification.

The semifinal appearance marks the best finish at the national championships in program history as UMSL finishes the season among the final four teams in NCAA Division II men's golf.

The Tritons capped one of their best seasons in school history with a Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship, a runner-up finish at the NCAA Midwest/Central Regional and an NCAA Championship semifinal appearance.
