FINDLAY, OHIO – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team is in third place with a total team score of 623 (316-307) after the first day of the NCAA East Regional at Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio. The first two rounds of the tournament were played on Monday due to potential inclement weather on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Wilma Zanderau is leading the way for the Tritons and is in second place with a score of 148 (76-72).
Hillary Currier also sits in the top 10 as she's tied for ninth with a score of 154 (76-78).
Mayan Covarrubias shot a 158 (83-75) and is tied for 19th while
Alaina Ervin posted a score of 163 (81-82) and
Emmy Wahl is at 169 (86-83).
Findlay's Ashleigh Duffo sits atop the player leaderboard with a 36-hole score of 146 (73-73) and holds a two-shot lead over Zanderau heading into the final round. The Oilers are the team leaders through 36 holes with a total team score of 605 (299-306).
The final round of the NCAA East Regional is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. (CDT) weather permitting on Tuesday.
The four teams with the lowest scores at the conclusion of the tournament will advance to the NCAA Championship tournament at PGA National in West Palm Beach, Fla., May 12-16.
