BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's golf shot an opening round total team score of 293 (+5) and is tied for third after the first round of the NCAA Midwest/Central Regional on Thursday at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich.
The three teams with the lowest scores at the conclusion of play on Saturday gain an automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Golf Championships to be held May 18-22 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.
Ludvig Granlund led the way for the Tritons shooting an even par score of 72 and is tied for 12th on the player leaderboard while
Dani Solavera and
Trigg Lindahl each turned in scores of 73 (+1) and are tied for 21st.
Logan Mayo finished with a 75 and
Leo Baudry had a score of 82.
UMSL is tied with Arkansas Tech for third heading into Friday's second round.
Grand Valley State's Manuel Cue and Ferris State's Ben Miller are tied for first overall with respective scores of 67 and a hold a one-shot lead over Central Missouri's CJ Phillips and Winona State's Peyton Coahran. Winona State sits atop the team leaderboard with an 18-hole score of 284 (-4) and lead Grand Valley State by two shots.
Friday's second round tees off at 9 a.m. (CDT) with the Tritons beginning to tee off at 10:40 a.m. (CDT) at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich.
