Women's Soccer Welcomes Four New Players

ST. LOUIS - The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer coach Stephen Cavallo has announced the addition of four players to the 2026 roster. Joining the program for the fall are Aubrey Rego, Tyler Pritchett, Ashtyn Fry, and Lucy Ledbetter.

"This class gives us the balance we were looking for," Cavallo announced. "We have two freshmen who bring energy, curiosity, and a real desire to grow, alongside two transfers who understand the demands of college soccer and what it takes to compete every day.

"They fit the way we want to play, but even more importantly, they fit the environment we're building," he said. "They are humble, hungry, and driven to improve. We believe they'll raise the level of our environment, strengthen our identity, and help move this program forward."

Rego, an incoming freshman from Dracut, Mass., is a versatile midfielder who can play central or out wide on the wing.

"Aubrey gives us something different in the attacking third — that spark, that creativity, that courage to try things other players don't see," Cavallo said. "She has an instinctive way of solving problems, especially in tight spaces, and that comes from her futsal background. She fits the personality we want in our attack: brave, technical, expressive. She will help us create moments that change games."

Pritchett, the second freshman in the class, is a goalkeeper from Kansas City, Missouri.

"Tyler arrives with the mentality of a winner, but what stands out even more is the joy she plays with. She is always smiling, always happy to be on the pitch, and that energy is contagious," Cavallo said. "Her spring, explosiveness, and ability to make the decisive save give her incredible potential. The hunger she brings into every session, combined with that joy, makes her a goalkeeper who can truly help shape our identity."

Fry arrives as a sophomore transfer from Maryville University. She can play as a striker or a central midfielder, Fry played in 14 games for the Saints, logging 250 minutes her freshman season. The Chesterfield, Mo., native scored two goals, both against Lincoln.

"Ashtyn brings experience in this conference, and that is invaluable. She knows the demands, she knows the intensity, and she embraces it," Cavallo said. "She's versatile, powerful, and technical, with the ability to create something out of nothing in big moments. Her driven, competitive mentality — obsessed with improving and hungry to make an immediate impact — aligns perfectly with the standards we want in our program."

Ledbetter, a St. Louis, Mo., native, spent her freshman year at Arkansas St. Ledbetter can play as either an outside back or as a winger.

"Lucy gives us versatility and aggression in the wide areas. She can play as a winger or an outside back, and she attacks every moment with speed and conviction," Cavallo said. "She is strong in the air, she is brave in duels, and she brings a presence that lifts the team. Her arrival strengthens our structure and gives us more solutions in how we want to dominate the wide channels."

The Tritons finished the 2025 season with a record of 15-5-2, including 11-1-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, won a share of the GLVC regular season title, won the NCAA Midwest Regional and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Tournament. They open their season at Pittsburg St. on August 27.
