ST. LOUIS, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team closed out the regular season and celebrated senior night with 4-0 victory over cross town rival Maryville on Wednesday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
With the win, the Tritons secured their 10th win of the season, marking the program's most wins since the 1998 team finished 11-7-2. They now stand at 10-6-1 overall and finish the GLVC slate with a 9-5-1 mark.
UMSL clinched a berth to the GLVC Tournament last Sunday for the first time since 2009 and begins first round action on Sunday. The Tritons are the No. 6 seed and will travel to No. 3 seed Drury. Game time is set for 1 p.m. UMSL lost a 2-1 double overtime decision at Drury earlier this season, when the Panthers were ranked No. 19.

Matt Burrus scored his second goal of the season at the 17:48 mark to give UMSL an early 1-0 lead. Freshman
Clay Stocker took a free kick on the deep right wing and after a scramble in the box, Burrus dropped it into the back of the net. Freshman

Luc Wells then made it 2-0 in the 34th minute after he stole the ball on the right baseline as UMSL took that lead into halftime.
Freshman
Tyler Collico picked up his team-leading seventh goal midway through the second half, spinning around a defender and firing from the right wing to make it 3-0 in the 67th minute.
Junior
Chad Haymart later added the fourth goal for the Tritons at the 87:07 mark on a free kick from 18 yards out on the right win. That goal was the first of Haymart's career.
The Tritons outshot Maryville, 17-8, including 12-0 in shots on goal, with Collico and Wells each taking four shots. Senior keeper
Patrick Ream did not face any shots in goal, but recorded his eighth shutout of the season, which ranks ninth on the single season charts.
Maryville ends its season at 3-15 overall, including 3-12 in the GLVC.
