ALLENDALE, MICH. – Freshman Natalia Vaz de Carvalhais advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Midwest Regional Tournament this weekend, highlighting action for the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis team.
Vaz de Carvalhais lost to eventual runner-up Zsofia Lanstiak of Lewis, 6-2, 6-1 after winning matches in the Rounds of 64, 32 and 16.
Junior
Louisa Werner, who was seeded fourth in the tournament, also advanced to the Round of 16.
UMSL will close out the fall portion of its schedule Oct. 5-6 at the Western Illinois Tournament.
