Evan Garrad and sophomore
Michael Schlemper each scored their first goals of the season en route to helping the University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team to a 2-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference win at Maryville on Wednesday afternoon in the regular season finale.
The Tritons improve to 9-6-2 overall and end the GLVC slate with an 8-5-2 mark. UMSL will take its current seven-game unbeaten streak into the GLVC Tournament, which begins Sunday with quarterfinal round action. The Tritons will learn of their opponent following the conclusion of all other league games tonight.
Maryville ends its season at 1-15 overall, including 1-14 in the GLVC.
The Saints struck early, netting a goal in the 12
th minute on their first shot of the game. Garrad then knotted the score at the 36:22 mark, snagging the ball off a rebound before putting it into the back of the net.
