ROMEOVILLE, ILL. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team battled through more than 96 minutes of scoreless play at No. 12 ranked Lewis on Sunday before the host Flyers scored the game-winner in overtime.
Ivan Surlina scored on a chip shot from the 20-yard line on the right side with his shot hitting the upper left corner of the net at the 96:38 mark. Lewis improves to 6-0-2 overall, including 5-0-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while UMSL slips to 3-5 and 2-4 in the league.
The Flyers owned a 14-8 advantage in shots, including a 6-2 edge in shots on goal. Sophomore
