SETTING THE SCENE
UMSL looks to bounce back from its first GLVC loss of the season when they travel to Truman State on Thursday. The Tritons then host Quincy on Saturday.

WHAT A START
With an 11-2 record, UMSL is off to its best start since 1988-89. Among those 11 wins was a 10-game win streak - the third longest in program history.

NATIONAL RECOGNITION
After debuting in the USA Today Sports NCAA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll last week with four votes, the Tritons remain listed this week with one vote. This is the first time since the 1999-2000 season that UMSL has received national recognition. Four GLVC schools are ranked in the top 25, including Drury (10th), Indianapolis (T14th), Quincy (18th) and Lewis (25th). Southern Indiana also received eight votes in the poll.

LAST TIME OUT
UMSL extended its win streak to 10 games last Thursday with a 74-50 rout of Wisconsin-Parkside, but saw it come to an end with a 67-60 loss to Lewis. The Tritons shot a season-low 35.4 percent, which included 28.6 percent (6-of-21) from three-point range, as they were dealt their first conference loss.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Truman State is 9-4 overall, including 3-2 in the GLVC, and has won three straight, including an 81-66 home victory over McKendree, which extended its home court win streak to 21 games. The Bulldogs, in their first season as members of the GLVC, were tabbed fourth in the West Division Preseason Coaches Poll. Truman State has four players averaging double figures, led by Amy Briggs' 12.8 points per game. Briggs owns 32 three-pointers for the Bulldogs, which average 8.2 longs balls per game, which leads the GLVC. They are netting 40 percent of their long ball attempts, which is fourth nationally.

Quincy enters a Thursday contest at Maryville with an 11-2 record, including a 4-1 GLVC mark. The Hawks have played just three road games this season, posting a 2-1 mark in those contests. Hannah Weedman averages 13.4 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, while Lucy Cramsey follows with 12.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game.

SIZING UP THE TRITONS
The Tritons are 11-2 overall and 4-1 in the GLVC, and sit in a three-way tie with Drury and Quincy atop the West Division standings. UMSL was picked to finish seventh in the GLVC West Division Preseason Coaches Poll. Four players average double figures, led by senior Hazaria Washington's 14.3 points per game. She also averages 6.6 rebounds per game and leads the team with 30 steals, while senior Devonna Smith averages a near double-double with 13.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.

SERIES HISTORIES
Truman State and UMSL will meet for the first time since the 1995-96 season when the Bulldogs posted a 65-44 win in St. Louis. Truman State leads the all-time series, 15-14.

Quincy leads the all-time series 30-18. The two teams split last season with the Hawks posting a 71-57 win in St. Louis before the Tritons snapped a 13-game losing streak to Quincy with a 47-42 road win.
