Box Score ROLLA, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team opened the 2014 season with a 1-1 double overtime tie on Saturday evening against No. 7 ranked and crosstown rival Lindenwood in the GLVC-MIAA Crossover, hosted by Missouri S&T.
The Lions scored just three minutes into the contest for the early 1-0 advantage before junior
Jon Huelsman converted a penalty kick in the 35
th minute for the equalizer.
Lindenwood recorded 18 shots to the Tritons' 17, but UMSL placed six shots on goal, while the Lions finished with five. Junior
Tyler Collico fired seven shots for the Tritons, landing three on goal.
Senior
Nick Lenkman played all 110 minute, recording four saves.
UMSL is back on the field tomorrow against Southwest Baptist at 5 p.m. to close out the four-team crossover.
