UMSL plays its final two road games of the regular season this weekend, making the short trips to Illinois Springfield on Thursday and to McKendree on Saturday. Â
SIZING UP THE TRITONS
UMSL fell to 9-10 overall after a pair of road losses last weekend at Rockhurst (78-71) and William Jewell (64-41).
The Tritons are 4-7 in the GLVC, sitting in sixth place in the West Division standings. UMSL is tied for 11th place overall and looking to stay in the top 12 to earn a spot in the GLVC Tournament.
UMSL is 5-6 in road games, but just 1-6 in GLVC road contests. The Tritons have lost five straight on the road. Â
The Tritons have limited six opponents to fewer than 55 points this season.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
Sophomore transfer
Laura Szorenyi averages a team-best 14.7 points per game, which ranks 11th in the GLVC, and has reached double figures in all but two games. She also leads the squad with 21 three-pointers and is second with 36 assists (2.0 apg). In GLVC-only games, Szorenyi averages 15.5 points per game.
Junior
Jordan Fletcher follows with 13.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game, while shooting 61.9 percent from the field, which ranks second in the GLVC and is currently third on the program's single season charts. She has led the team in scoring a team-high nine times and has six 20-plus scoring games.
CAREER WORTHY
Fletcher's current career shooting percentage of 57.7 is a program best, while her 87 career blocked shots are third most.
TRITON TIDBITS

Jordan Boyce has started the last two games and scored a season-high seven points at Rockhurst.

Sydney Bloch is averaging 28 minutes per game in the last four outings and earned her first start of the year last Saturday at William Jewell. She is averaging 7.0 points per game during that stretch, more than double her season average of 3.2.
- Junior
Sammie Sproul pulled down a season-high seven rebounds in both games last weekend. Sproul has also made nine of her 18 three-pointers on the year in the last five games and is shooting 42.9 percent (9-of-21) from beyond the arc during that span.
EYEING 100
Fifth-year head coach
Katie Vaughn enters Thursday's game at Illinois Springfield with 99 career victories. Vaughn, the 11th head coach in program history, came to UMSL following three seasons Âat Lincoln (Mo.) University. She is 99-111 in eight seasons as a head coach, including 70-59 in five seasons at UMSL.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Illinois Springfield is 8-11 overall, including 2-9 in the GLVC. The Prairie Stars are in eighth place in the East Division and has lost its last four. UIS is 4-5 at home this season, but just 1-5 in league games. The Prairie Stars lead the GLVC in offensive rebounds with an average of 14.73 per game in conference-only contests.
McKendree enters a Thursday home game against Maryville at 10-10 overall and 1-9 in the GLVC. The Bearcats are 8-6 at home, but just 1-6 in home conference games. In league-only games, McKendree is third with a rebounding margin of 4.9.
SERIES RECORDS
UMSL is 8-1 all-time against Illinois Springfield and has won the last three meetings. The Tritons will be playing in Springfield, Ill., for the first time since time since the 2013-14 season.
