UMSL Women’s Hoops Has Three Players Named to All-GLVC Team

ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team had three players named to the All-GLVC Team as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Alex Wolff earned Second Team All-Conference honors while Kate Rolfes and Katie Hamill were Third Team selections. Hamill was also named to the All-Freshman Team.

Wolff earns her first All-GLVC accolade after finishing the regular season averaging 10.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per contest. She has reached double figures in scoring 14 times this season highlighted by a career-high 24 points in the win at Illinois Springfield back in November. Wolff is shooting 47 percent from the field and is second on the team with 19 blocked shots.

Rolfes finished the regular season as one of the top three-pointer shooters in the conference. Her three-point field goal percentage of 34.3 ranks third in the conference while her 69 made threes are fourth best in the league. Twice this season she has hit six threes in a game in wins over Kentucky Wesleyan and McKendree.

Hamill leads the Tritons in scoring this season at 11.0 points per contest and is second on the team with her 5.4 rebounds per game and her 33 steals. She has reached double figures in scoring 17 times this season including a career-high 23-point performance in the win at Purdue Northwest on Nov. 26. Hamill has recorded two doubles-doubles this season against UHSP (16 points, 10 rebounds) and Southwest Baptist (13 points, 12 rebounds).

Brooke Woodyard is one of 15 women's basketball student-athletes nominated for the GLVC's James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award. These individuals must be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. The honorees from full-time GLVC member institutions are now eligible to become one of their school's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the end of the academic year.

UMSL, seeded fourth, will take on fifth seeded Maryville in the first round of the GLVC Tournament on Friday at 6 p.m. at Hyland Arena on the campus of Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo.
