ST. LOUIS, MO. – University of Missouri-St. Louis head women's tennis coach
Rick Gyllenborg has announced the signing of
Odette Beagrie (Somerset, England) and
Bianca Buie (Baia Mare, Romania) to national letters of intent to join the Tritons program beginning with the 2018-19 academic year.
Beagrie plays No. 1 for Millfield School and is also the team captain. She has played tennis since she was 10, having won several national and ITF titles.
Buie will come to UMSL from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where she was just named the ITA Region III Sophomore of the Year. Buie went 38-3 during her singles career at Gulf Coast, including a perfect 19-0 at No. 2 singles as a freshman on the way to the state and region championship. She won the No. 1 singles championship this year and is currently competing at the NJCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship with the rest of the Lady Bulldogs.
Beagrie and Buie will join an UMSL team that is coming off the program's first-ever NCAA DII National Championships appearance.
