ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The UMSL women's basketball team is riding a six-game winning streak.

On Monday, Christmas arrived a bit early for head coach Katie Vaughn and her Tritons as they have been regionally ranked in the latest D2SIDA women's basketball media poll.

UMSL sits 10th in the Midwest Region, as they received five points in the poll.

Drury still commands the overall spot in the region, with Ashland, Southern Indiana, Grand Valley State and a tie between Michigan Tech and Saginaw Valley State round out the top 5 slots.

UMSL was idle last week due Thursday's postponement at Christian Brothers (Memphis, Tenn.) but are back in action at 1 p.m. Saturday as they visit Principia (Elsah, Ill.).

The Tritons are 6-1 overall and 3-0 in GLVC play. They are averaging 64 points per game.
