ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Northwest Open at Hughes Fieldhouse in Maryville, Mo., on Saturday afternoon.
Jacob Warner, competing in his first race of the season, led the Tritons with a seventh-place finish in the 3,000 meters. He finished with a time of 8:44.86.
Brett Lynch,
Sam Savastino and
Matthias Shelp all competed in the 5,000 meters. Lynch placed 14th with a time of 15:58.31 while Savastino was 16th at 16:19.32 and Shelp came in 21st crossing the line at 16:35.77. Lynch's time was a personal best in the event.
Benjamin VandenBrink and
Toby Middleton finished 16th and 20th in the mile with times of 4:21.01 and 4:25.14 respectively. VandenBrink's time was a personal best.
For the women,
Kayley Heeter and
Lily Wagemann ran in the 3,000 meters. Heeter came in 29th place with a time of 11:39.74 while Wagemann was 35th at 11:54.03.
