Women’s Soccer Seeks to Improve Playoff Positioning on Final GLVC Road Trip

ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team looks to hold onto its spot among the top eight teams in the Great Lakes Valley Conference as it heads on the road for the final time in conference play this weekend for a pair of contests.

The Tritons, who are currently tied for seventh with Missouri S&T with 13 points based on a 4-3-1 record – they are 5-4-3 overall – will take on Illinois Springfield Friday at 5 p.m. and then head to Quincy on Sunday to meet up with the Hawks at noon.

Last Time Out – UMSL snapped its three-game winless streak with a 5-0 win over Upper Iowa last Friday evening. Kendal White recorded a hat trick in the contest while Candice Parziani and Josie Maddox had a goal apiece. Mary Kate Neal picked up her first shutout of the season.

With five games remaining on the schedule, the last three that will be at home, the Tritons are in a mix where nine points currently separates third place from ninth – and UMSL's two opponents this weekend are at the opposite ends of that spectrum.

With her three goals on Friday, White moved into second on the team's scoring list with 9 points and trails only Jada Holloman who has 11 points (five goals, one assist). Jaycee Cotton is third in goals scored with three.

Neal has a goals against average of 1.00 with 14 saves and a save percentage of 0.778 in 360 minutes.

About Illinois Springfield – The Prairie Stars bring a 6-3-4 overall record and a 6-2-1 GLVC mark for 19 points heading into Friday's contest as they are currently third in the conference standings. UIS is 4-0-1 in its last five contests and have won three straight.

Sierra Cenek and Abby Dellamorte are tied for the team lead in scoring with 16 points apiece. Cenek has tallied seven goals and two assists including two game-winners while Dellamorte has five goals and six assists.

Allison Mirimanian has played most of the minutes in goal this season allowing 12 goals while making 40 saves, has a goals against average of 0.93, a save percentage of 0.769 and four shutouts.

About Quincy – The Hawks bring a 3-8-2 overall record including a GLVC mark of 3-5-1 for 10 points heading into Friday's contest versus McKendree. Quincy is 1-4-1 in its last five games after picking up a point with a 2-2 at William Jewell on Sunday.

Ella Wolfard leads the team in scoring with six goals for a total of 12 points while Lisa Albarran has three goals and four assists for 10 points.

Eva Norris and Julia Mincher have split time in goal this season for the Hawks. Norris is 2-4-1 and has allowed 19 goals, has a goals against average of 2.71, has made 44 saves and posted two shutouts. Mincher is 1-4-1 and has allowed 22 goals, has a goals against average of 3.67, has made 36 saves and posted a shutout.
