UMSL Men’s Soccer Hosts Drury and Southwest Baptist in Season Finale

ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team concludes its 2023 season this weekend hosting Drury and Southwest Baptist at Don Dallas Field. The Tritons and Panthers will meet on Friday evening at 5 p.m. and then will take on the Bearcats at noon on Sunday.

UMSL enters Friday's contest looking to snap a nine-game losing streak and play spoiler as Drury enters the game in seventh place in the conference standings with 15 points and is trying to secure one of the final two playoff spots in the conference tournament. The Panthers are battling for one of those two spots with Quincy and Rockhurst who are tied for eighth with 14 points.

Last Time Out – The Tritons battled but came up short in its 1-0 loss at No. 10 Illinois Springfield last weekend. Junior Austin Reis made eight saves in goal for UMSL.

The Tritons wrapped up their road schedule on Sunday with a 3-1 loss at Quincy. UMSL dominated the first half but was unable to find the back of the net. The Hawks struck first scoring four minutes into the second half off a throw in. The Tritons got the equalizer in the 61st minute on junior Devin Livingstone's fourth goal of the season. Quincy regained the lead in the 74th minute as Rennato Ramos scored off a rebound and then added an insurance goal in the final minutes as Ben Scotford knocked in a rebound of a shot off the crossbar.

About Drury – The Panthers enter Friday's contest with a record of 4-6-5, 4-4-3 GLVC and are 4-2-2 in its last eight contests. They picked up a split last weekend falling to Rockhurst 2-1 last Friday then rallied for a 2-1 win over William Jewell on Sunday.

John Clout leads the team in scoring with three goals and two assists for a total of eight points while Lui Bull is second with seven points on three goals and one assist. Clout, Bull and J.J. Adikwu are tied for the team lead with three goals scored. Bull has scored two of the team's four game-winning goals.

Camden Meyer has played 1,080 minutes in goal this season making 48 saves with a save percentage of .727, a goals against average of 1.50 and has posted three shutouts.

About Southwest Baptist – The Bearcats enter Friday's game at McKendree with a record of 2-9-3, 1-8-2 GLVC and are 0-3-2 in its last five contests. SBU played William Jewell to a 2-2 tie last Friday before losing to Rockhurst 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Titouan Fraslin leads the team in scoring this season with four goals and two assists for a total of 10 points. Joshua Gerdiman is second on the squad with three goals and six points.

Dawson Sozio has played 1,019 minutes in goal this year making 60 saves, has a save percentage of .706, a goals against average of 2.21 and has posted a shutout.
