ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's swimming team recorded its best finish at the GLVC Swimming and Diving Championships with a fifth place showing recording a total of 792 points at the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Ind.
Zara Konstapel had the Tritons highest finish on Saturday as she came in fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:19.25.
Cheyanne Godleski was the runner-up in the C-Final with a time of 2:26.63 while
Olivia Gawronski was fourth in the C-Final at 2:27.51.
Ava Boehning,
Stephanie Schoemans and
Sarah Nelson finished fifth, sixth and seventh in the C-Final of the 100-yard freestyle with times of 52.59 seconds, 52.66 seconds and 53.61 seconds respectively.
Isabella Gruidl was the runner-up in the B-Final of the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:07.44 while
Mackenzie Greenley,
Lily Franzen,
Brooklyn Messenger and
Maria Serra competed in the C-Final. Greenley was third at 2:12.00, Franzen finished fourth with a time of 2:12.32, Messenger took sixth in a time of 2:13.58 and Serra was sixth at 2:14.73.
Ashleigh Baros was 18th in the 1,650-yard freestyle in a time of 18:55.57.
The Triton 400-yard freestyle relay team of Boehning, Schoemans, S. Nelson and
Kate Nelson finished fifth in the A-Final at 3:30.41 while the squad of Gruidl,
Franziska Hauptmann,
Madison Bottorff and
Kristen Stalder came in fourth in the B-Final at 3:35.57.
UMSL will now wait to find out how many swimmers it will have qualify for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (March 8-11) in Indianapolis.
