Tritons Visit Central Methodist on Thursday

ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team continues its season opening five-game road trip traveling to Fayette, Mo., on Thursday to take on Central Methodist at 7 p.m. at Davis Field.

Last Time Out – The Tritons opened their season with a 1-1 draw at Kentucky Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon. UMSL trailed 1-0 at the break after a giving up a goal in the final minute of the first half. The Tritons rallied in the second getting the equalizer as Luca Saewe scored off a rebound in the 56th minute. UMSL had 3-1 advantage in shots over the Panthers but put only six of those on goal.

About Central Methodist – The Eagles enter Thursday's contest with a record of 2-1 and are ranked No. 12 in the United Soccer Coaches NAIA Top 25 poll. CMU opened its season with a 2-1 win over William Woods on August 27, lost at Rockhurst 2-1 last Thursday and then defeated Southwestern Christian (Okla.) 6-1 on Monday afternoon.

Koen Schimmel and Liam Arthur lead the Eagles in goals scored with three each. Schimmel also has an assist for a total of seven points. Isaac Johnson is third on the team in scoring with one goal and two assists for four points.

Morris Van Tuinen is 1-1 in goal this season playing in 180 of the team's 270 minutes. He's made seven saves while allowing four goals and has a save percentage of .636.

Up Next – The Tritons continue their five-game road trip next Friday as they head to Liberty, Mo., to take on William Jewell at 7:30 p.m.
