ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's track and field teams opened its outdoor season at the Miner Invitational on Saturday at Allgood-Bailey Stadium in Rolla, Mo.
The two teams combined for 12 top 20 finishes at the meet.
On the women's side,
Kennedy Moore and
Makayla Brown finished in the top 10 in the triple jump. Moore jumped a personal best of 11.02 meters (36'2") while Brown hit a mark of 10.65 meters (34'11.25").
Brown and Moore tied for 16th in the high jump with each clearing the bar at a height of 1.45 meters (4'9").
Kayley Heeter and
Ella Tynan finished 16th and 17th in the 1500 meters with times of 5:12.11 and 5:13.27 respectively.
Dominica Rooks came in 16th in the 400 meters in a time of 1:03.89.
For the men, the Tritons had four runners finish in the top 11 of the 1500 meters led by
Jacob Warner with a time of 4:00.29.
Caleb Leach,
Jonny Key and
Toby Middleton came in eighth, 10th and 11th with times of 4:02.50, 4:03.81 and 4:05.48 respectively.
Elijah DeBose took 20th in the high jump clearing the bar at a height of 1.65 meters (5'5").
UMSL returns to competition next weekend competing at the Wash U Distance Carnival next Friday and Southeast Missouri State's Joey Haines Invitational next Saturday.
