ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up its season at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Stokes Stadium in Kirksville, Mo.
The Triton women finished 11th overall with 14 points while the men were 13th at six points.
Kennedy Moore recorded the best finish in the history of the women's program taking second in the triple jump with a leap of 11.65 meters (38'2.75"). It also matches the best finish as
Benjamin VandenBrink finished second in the 5,000 meters at last year's outdoor championships in Rolla, Mo.
Moore also finished fourth in the long jump with a jump of 5.51 meters (18'1").
Makayla Brown took eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.78 meters (35'4.5") and
Melissa White finished 11th in the event with a jump of 10.02 meters (32'10.5").
The 4x400 meter relay team of Brown, Moore, White and
Dominica Rooks finished ninth with a time of 4:15.98.
On the men's side,
Jacob Warner finished fourth in the 10,000 meters on Thursday evening in a time of 31:10.16 and came in eighth in the 5,000 meters crossing the line at 14:54.50.
Caleb Leach and
Toby Middleton finished 15th and 16th in the 1,500 meters with times of 4:05.08 and 4:05.23 respectively.
Lewis won the women's championship with 203 points while Missouri S&T won the men's title with 226 points.
