SPRING, Texas – The No. 16 University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team opened the spring portion of its schedule finishing 11th out of 15 teams with a total team score of 616 (312-304) on Monday at Cypresswood Golf Club in Spring, Texas. The tournament was originally scheduled for 54 holes but Tuesday's final round was canceled due to weather.
Wilma Zanderau led the way for the Tritons finishing in a tie for 16th with a score of 149 (79-70).
Juliette Lecomte shot a 36-hole score of 153 (75-78) and
Hillary Currier had a score of 154 (77-77).
Mayan Covarrubias and
Hope Williams had scores of 160 (81-79) and 161 (82-79) respectively.
Emmy Wahl, competing as an individual, shot a 152 (77-75) to finish in a tie for 30th.
The University of Texas at Tyler's Arnie Taguines was the individual medalist with a score of 143 (73-70) beating Rogers State's Lydia Sitorus and St. Mary's (Texas) Savannah Dupre by two shots. Dallas Baptist won the team title with a total team score of 586 (288-298).
UMSL returns to the course on Sunday (March 9) hosting the Emerald Coast Classic at Sandestin-Baytowne Golf Club in Destin, Fla.
