JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's track and field teams competed in its final tune-up meet before next weekend's Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship meet on Friday at the Illinois College Hilltop Invite in Jacksonville, Ill.
The Tritons best performance came in the men's mile with
Caleb Leach and
Will Kaempfe finishing first and second with times of 4:20.65 and 4:22.59 respectively.
Luke Stevenson was sixth in the event at 4:27.45.
Sean Keys came in eighth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:00.81 while
Gavin Love,
Willem Hummel and
Luke Hall were 11th, 12th and 14th with times of 2:01.37, 2:02.10 and 2:02.49 respectively.
Sebastian Meyer finished seventh in the 3,000 meters (8:53.80) and
Julio Cruz Jr. was 10th at 9:11.69.
For the women,
Rebekah Vail finished 12th in the shot put with a mark of 10.43 meters (34'02.75") and 26th in the weight throw with a heave of 10.93 meters (35'10.50").
Bella Massaro came in 11th (11:39.44) and
Zoey Losch was 15th (13:36.18) in the 3,000 meters.
Ella Tynan took 12th in the mile in a time of 5:42.75.
Melissa White finished third in the triple jump with an indoor personal best mark of 10.14 meters (33'03.25").
UMSL returns to the oval circle next Saturday and Sunday competing in the GLVC Indoor Track and Field Championships at the University of Indianapolis' Athletics & Recreation Center (ARC) in Indianapolis.
