COAL VALLEY, Ill. – The No. 19 University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team finished the first day of the Great Lakes Valley Conference women's golf championships with a total team score of 611 (305-306) at Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley, Ill.
The Tritons finished the first 36 holes with four players in the top 10 on the individual leaderboard and were led by
Wilma Zanderau and
Mayan Covarrubias who are tied for fourth with respective scores of 151 (+9). Zanderau had rounds of 77 and 74 while Covarubbias finished 76 and 75.
Emmy Wahl is tied for sixth at 154 (75-79) and
Hillary Currier is tied for ninth with a score of 155 (77-78).
Brooke Inchiostro is tied for 17th at 159 (77-82) and
Juliette Lecomte, competing as an individual, is tied for 21st with a score of 161 (83-78).
Illinois Springfield's Elaine Grant sits atop the leaderboard with a 36-hole score of 146 (72-74) and is one shot ahead of UIndy's Caroline Whallon. UMSL holds a 10-shot lead over UIndy heading into Saturday's final round.
The final round of the stroke play portion of the Championships tees off at 8 a.m.
