ST. LOUIS – For the sixth time in program history, the No. 19 University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team is headed to the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships.
The Tritons punched their ticket with a fifth-place finish at the 18-team East Regional, held Monday-Wednesday at The Meadows Golf Club in Allendale, Mich. UMSL turned in a 54-hole total team score of 929 (312-310-307) and moves along with Grand Valley State, Findlay, Ferris State and UIndy. The DII Championships will be held May 13-17 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.
Grand Valley won the regional championship by shooting an 880 (290-298-292), while the Oilers' Ashleigh Duffo took home medalist honors with a final score of 216 (71-71-74) to finish at even par for the tournament.
For the Tritons,
Emmy Wahl finished in a tie for 15th with a score of 227 (77-76-74) while
Wilma Zanderau was tied for 20th with a score of 232 (78-79-75).
UMSL also advanced to the NCAA Championships in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023.
