ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team had five players named to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference team as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Head Coach
Troy Halterman was named the GLVC's Women's Golf Coach of the Year.
Wilma Zanderau and
Hillary Currier were named to the All-GLVC First Team while
Mayan Covarrubias,
Emmy Wahl and
Hope Williams landed on the second team.
Per GLVC Bylaws, each of the top-five finishers at the GLVC Championship automatically earn an All-Conference selection, with the individual medalist at the Conference Tournament earning First Team Honors. Coaches are not permitted to vote for their own players.
Zanderau becomes the fifth golfer in league history to win back-to-back Player of the Year awards and first since Pilar Echeverria won three in a row for Indianapolis from 2017-2019. Zanderau played 33 rounds during the 2025-26 season with a 74.2 stroke average and had a season-low round of 65 at the UMSL Spring Invitational.
She earned three top five finishes this season with five top-10 finishes in 11 events. Zanderau is ranked third in the GLVC, tenth in the NCAA East Region and 81st in NCAA Division II. She helped lead the Tritons to two tournament wins and the 2026 GLVC Title. Zanderau finished third at the GLVC Championship with a total score of 221 (75-74-72).
Currier earns All-GLVC accolades for the second straight season. She has played 33 rounds this season with a stroke average of 75.58 with a season-low round of 67. Currier has three top-five finishes and four top-10 finishes this season. She was named GLVC Women's Golf Player of the Week back in the fall. Currier finished in a tie for fifth at the GLVC Championships with a 54-hole total score of 227 (76-73-78).
Covarrubias earns All-GLVC honors for the second straight season. She sank a par putt just inside eight feet to clinch UMSL's first GLVC Women's Golf title. Covarrubias has played 33 rounds this season with an event win at the Findlay Spring Invitational to go along with a top-five and two-top finishes this season.
She has a stroke average of 76.45 and was twice named the GLVC Women's Golf Player of the Week this Spring. Covarrubias finished in a tie for 17th at the conference meet with a total score of 236 (75-77-84).
Wahl also earns her second All-GLVC honor. She's played in 32 rounds this season with a stroke average of 77.72 and has one top 10 finish. Wahl shot a season-low round of 71 in the second round of the UIndy Fall Invitational back in September. She finished in a tie for 25th at the GLVC Championships.
Williams receives All-GLVC accolades for the first time in her career after finishing in a tie for 13th at the GLVC Championships. She has played in 24 rounds with a stroke average of 79.38 and shot a season-low round of 72 in the second round of the UIndy Fall Invitational.
Halterman wins his first Women's Coach of the Year award and second overall for the Tritons joining James Earle in 2010.
He led the Tritons to the No. 2 seed in GLVC Championship medal/match play and the program's first Conference title with a 3-2 semifinal win over third-seeded Maryville and a 3-2 win over top seeded Indianapolis in the championship match.
Halterman mentored UMSL to two tournament wins, including the GLVC Championship, to go along with two runner-up finishes and two other top-five results. He guided five players to All-GLVC honors this season.
Additionally, Wahl was one of 13 student-athletes named as their team's James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award honoree for distinguishing themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. The honorees are now eligible to become one of their school's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced later this month.
