ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's track and field team opened its 2022-23 season with eight top 10 finishes at the Eastern Illinois Early Bird on Friday at Lantz Fieldhouse in Charleston, Ill.
The Tritons had three top five finishes in the 400 meters led by
Kennedy Moore who finished third with a personal best time of 1:05.96.
Dominica Rooks won the second heat to finish fourth overall in a personal best time of 1:06.
Desiree Brooks took fifth at 1:07.54 which was also a personal best.
Haeley Johnson ran a personal best time of 8.21 seconds in the 60 meters to finish fourth.
UMSL had four runners finish in the top 10 of the 200 meters. Moore won her heat with a time of 28.27 seconds to finish fifth overall. Rooks was second in the heat at 28.63 seconds to finish seventh overall. Johnson finished eighth at 29.41 seconds and Brooks came in ninth at 30.23 seconds.
The Tritons return to the track on January 14 for the Eastern Illinois John Craft Invite in Charleston, Ill.
