ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis track and field teams concluded competition at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion on Sunday in Indianapolis.
The Triton men finished 10th with 19 points while the women were tied for 11th with six points.
Kennedy Moore and
Makayla Brown become the first Triton women to score at the conference meet finishing fourth and eighth respectively in the triple jump. Moore set a personal record in the event with a leap of 10.79 meters (35'4.75") in her final jump to move past Truman State's Addison Walker for fourth in the event. Brown finished eighth hitting a personal best mark of 10.64 meters (34'11") in her final jump.
Melissa White finished 10th in the event with a best leap of 10.08 meters (33'1").
For the men,
Benjamin VandenBrink finished fourth in the 3,000 meters with a personal best time of 8:32.67 while
Jacob Warner finished sixth in the race with a time of 8:37.81.
Caleb Leach took seventh in the mile touching the line at 4:21.58.
At the conclusion of the meet Warner and
Dominica Rooks were recognized as UMSL's individual award nominees for the GLVC's James R. Spalding Sportsmanship award.
The Tritons open their outdoor season on Saturday (March 23) at the Miner Invite in Rolla, Mo.
