ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's track and field teams combined for six top 10 finishes at the Illinois College True Blue Invite on Saturday afternoon at the Ware Family Track in Jacksonville, Ill.
For the women,
Kennedy Moore and
Makayla Brown finished second and third in the triple jump. Moore's best leap was 10.82 meters (35'6") while Brown's best attempt was her first one at 10.75 meters (35'3.25").
Melissa White finished seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 10.14 meters (33'3.25").
Brown and Moore finished 11th and 14th respectively in the long jump. Brown's best jump was 4.81 meters (15'9.5") and Moore's was 4.73 meters (15'6.25"). Moore and Brown also finished in the top 10 in the high jump. Moore and Brown were tied for seventh in the high jump with both clearing the bar at a height of 1.50 meters (4'11").
On the men's side,
Caleb Leach took sixth and
Michael Wright finished 11th in the 800-meter run. Leach crossed the line at 1:59.12 while Wright had a time of 1:59.46.
The Tritons return to the next track next Friday (April 12) traveling to Warrensburg, Mo., for the Mule Relays beginning at noon at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field.
