UMSL Sports Hall of Fame
COACH (Men's Soccer)
Don Dallas built the UMSL men's soccer program into a perennial national power after starting the program in 1968, and six years later won the school's only NCAA National Championship for any sport in 1973. He had a 236-89-30 career record at UMSL and a 247-93-34 record overall in college coaching. Dallas coached a total of 15 All-Americans at UMSL and led the team to the NCAA Tournament 16 times and to six Final Four appearances. He was named Midwest Region Coach of the Year three times during his career and in 1987 was named National Coach of the Year. In 1991, the UMSL soccer field was renamed the Don Dallas Soccer Field as a tribute to Dallas and in honor of his accomplishments to the University.
